Description

The 100 % Masterplan Municipality Potsdam project is a project funded by the BMWi as part of the National Climate Protection Initiative. Between mid-2016 and the end of 2017, master plans were developed by 22 municipalities in Germany with the goal of reducing CO2 by 95 % and final energy consumption by 50 % by 2050 compared to the starting year 1990. As the selected municipality, Potsdam commissioned the named consortium to conduct the assessment.

Result:

  • Development of target paths to achieve the set climate protection goals
  • Reduction of emissions by 92 % compared to 1995
  • Green district heating and energy-efficient building renovation as core building blocks of the strategy
  • Special focus on the designation of district heating priority areas and the integration of environmental heat sources
